[ Day 53 ] Trip End, Saturday, Aug 8 Nackawic to Hartland, NB (69km)

New Brunswick Flag

Origin: Nackawic Motel
Destination: Covered Bridge B&B

Route Description: The 105 all the way

Weather: Cool and cloudy early, turning to sunny and clear with beautiful cloud formations.

This is our final day-by-day report of our Maritmes bicycling trip. If you have read this far, thanks for your interest.

We awoke this morning with much excitement for our final day of bicycling in the Maritimes.
8:00 AM Nackawic

The day was perfect: great weather, traffic minimal (only 4 cars passed us in 2 hours) early, sights along the way familiar on this return route, and our cycling pace was notably quicker. Along the way we contined reflecting on the trip and imagine this will continue for days and months to come.

We stopped by the river for snacks once and a sandwich later, arriving in Hartland at 2 to celebrate 1900 kms (1200 miles) on two wheels with carrot cake, peach pie and coffee at Jeremiah's, our favorite Hartland restaurant.

We celebrate the fine performance of both bikes, the endurance of both riders, the PEI bike tour with three generations, and our good fortune to have time and health for such an adventure.

At the B&B we repacked the car with the folded bicycles inside and will start home to Colorado tomorrow through Canada--with a brief visit with Bob's sisters and family in Minnesota.
